Big Phil
This has been a very sad week for our family. Joe's cousin, Big Phil, had a heart attack on Tuesday morning. He was dropping someone off at the airport early in the morning, said he couldn't breathe, and then said he was going out. He lost consciousness and paramedics were on the scene within moments because they were already at the airport. He was resuscitated five times and has been in the cardiac care unit of the hospital ever since. He is non responsive, not breathing on his own, and has almost no brain activity. He is having constant seizures because of the damage to the brain. Today, he will begin to be be removed from the machines that are keeping his organs working. I know many of you knew Phil, especially mom and dad, and I just want to ask everybody to pray for him to have a smooth transition from this earthly body, and pray for his family. Karen, his wife, and Philip his son are going to have a difficult time functioning without him. I have spent much of the last few days at the hospital with the family, and it is amazing how many people have been there for him. He is loved by many, but never realized it. He told his wife recently, that when he died, nobody would come to his funeral. I hope he will be able to see how loved he was from the other side. He would do anything for anybody, and for me personally, I tried to be careful when asking him for help, because he would do anything for me. He treated me like a daughter, and whenever my family would come to visit, he made sure to have a cookout. He acted like my family was his family. What a special person. He will be missed by many, and our family will be forever changed with him gone.
